Upon my departure from college and as I approach entering the real world...a great way to keep in touch with friends and family. Although I will be living farther away...you will all be closer to my heart.

Drive, Drive & More Driving

After goofing around at the NTC this morning (40 minutes of weights/core followed by a lazy 3000 yard swim practice) I headed back to DeLand. Thank goodness Clermont is only an hour away and it didn't take to long to get home. I do hate that the fastest way between my two Florida 'bedrooms' requires spending $1.75 on the toll roads...both ways!
My dad and I got in the car and headed over to Plan B (the awesome-est bike shop ever) for the swap-meet. We mingled with the huge crowds and I chatted with Steve and Tracy and Conrad (some of my triathlon-related-support-crew). I also met a lot of other local cyclists and triathletes...I had a few requests for autographs and one request to speak to the kids a the Port Orange Elementary school.
We only hung out at the bike shop for a short time because I planned a bike ride with my dad, followed by a horse-ride with my mom, all before driving back to Clermont for dinner. The bike ride was painful (I am SOOO out of shape)...the horse ride was a blast (I'm getting better at controlling Buddy)...and my drive home was uneventful!
I'm back in Clermont, ate a yummy homemade dinner, went for ice cream with my roommate, and getting ready to crash for the night! Tomorrow my roommate, Koren, and I are going to meet a group ride leaving from the waterfront park at 9:30am. I just found out the ride is 50 MILES...but we stop at a big German Bakery half-way through so I think I'll be able to survive:)
Wish me luck and I'll report continue to report on my successes and failures!
